Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park (Approx. 2 hours, 120 km)

Best Time To Visit Tarangire National Park

Your adventure begins at 7:30 AM with a morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha. After a brief safari briefing from your driver-guide, you’ll head southwest toward Tarangire National Park, arriving by 9:30 AM. Known for its massive baobab trees and large elephant herds, Tarangire offers a classic safari feel with fewer crowds. Enjoy a full-day game drive through diverse landscapes with sightings of giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, lions, and more. Around 12:30 PM, you’ll stop at a scenic picnic site for lunch within the park. In the late afternoon, continue your drive until around 4:30 PM, then exit the park and head to your public campsite near Mto wa Mbu, a small, vibrant village just outside Lake Manyara. Arrive at the campsite by 5:30 PM, where your team will set up tents and prepare a hot dinner. Enjoy a peaceful night under the stars.

Plan Meal: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha (Approx. 2 hours to crater, 4 hours return to Arusha)

Wake up early for a quick breakfast, then depart the campsite by 6:00 AM for a drive up to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, reaching the crater rim around 7:30 AM. Descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater, a 600-meter-deep volcanic caldera teeming with wildlife. From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, enjoy a thrilling game drive across the crater floor, spotting lions, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and possibly the rare black rhino. Stop for a packed lunch at the picnic site near Lake Magadi, where hippos often lounge. After lunch, begin your ascent out of the crater around 1:00 PM, then start your return journey to Arusha, with estimated arrival back in town around 5:00 PM. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or preferred location with memories of an unforgettable safari.
